Another hack of something designed for another purpose being used to improve the Golden Luvwagen! I was at Ikea, and saw a lighting product called "Non." It was only $10. It is designed for under-cabinet lighting. It is basically 2 halogen puck lights, a transformer brick that plugs into the wall, and some wire with an inline switch. The bulbs in the halogen lights are 12V 10W. So I just hacked it up, threw away the transformer, and reused the lights and even most of the wire. The lights put out really nice soft white light, without glare. And a surprising amount for only 10W of juice. I added switches so that each light could be turned on individually. (I actually didn't throw away the transformer, I might use that for something else someday.)
